The death of a loved one can be one of the most devastating experiences we will ever face and can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation.

We are the largest bereavement charity in the UK and last year (2017/18) we helped over half a million people, but we can only do this with the help of our amazing volunteers!

Even if you only have a few minutes to spare, your support will make a huge difference to the lives of people who have been bereaved.

We have a number of different volunteering opportunities available for new volunteers. If you live in Scotland, please visit Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland's website.

Pledge 1: Help people in your local community who have been bereaved - 60 minutes, one off

Using our bereavement booklet, get in contact with someone you know who has been bereaved and offer them your support. Our booklet has lots of information and helpful tips about how to support adults and children.

Pledge 2: ‘More than Words’ Champion – 120 -180 minutes a month

Our ‘More than Words’ project supports people who are feeling lonely and isolated after the death of a loved one. With our support, you can train to become a local community Champion and help run a peer-led support group in your area.

Pledge 3:  National Helpline Volunteer – One day to 4 hours a week

Join our National Helpline and be the first point of contact for people who are bereaved and in need of support.  Our National Helpline is based in Richmond and we also offer remote working.
