Volunteer for Bexley and Bromley

Cruse Bexley and Bromley has over 55 volunteers who provide bereavement support and other support roles in the organisation.  Our volunteers are a mix of ages, backgrounds and cultures but the one thing they have in common is their commitment to helping bereaved people. We are a friendly and supportive organisation and many of our volunteers have been with us for a long time.

Bereavement Volunteer

Cruse needs bereavement volunteers to help people who are struggling to face the future after a death. We are here to make sure that any bereaved person who needs us can have someone to whom they can talk. Every hour of time given by a volunteer helps a child or adult face the future knowing that they are not alone. As a bereavement volunteer you are likely to find there is enormous satisfaction from knowing you have made a positive difference to someone's life. Anyone can apply to be a bereavement volunteer for Cruse.

You do not need to have any qualifications or previous experience but you do need to care about bereaved people and have time to offer. We welcome men and women of all ages, races, cultures and backgrounds. You will receive specialist training with an Awareness in Bereavement Care course that is designed to equip Cruse volunteers with bereavement awareness, skills and knowledge.

Volunteer Training - 2019

Our '2018 Awareness in Bereavement Care' training course is underway, to register your interest for the 2019 training course, please email us on bexleyandbromley@cruse.org.uk

Other Volunteers

You can also help in other important ways: volunteers are always needed for administration roles, fundraising, organising publicity etc. Whatever you do to help Cruse, you are helping bereaved people.
