What we do

Cruse Bereavement Care’s vision is that all bereaved people have somewhere to turn when someone dies. We offer free and confidential services to anyone (including children) bereaved by death. We offer support to all people regardless of age, race, religion or gender.

Our area is staffed by trained volunteers who give their time to support to anyone affected by bereavement. Our trained bereavement volunteers offer a sensitive, professional and confidential service to individuals, on a one-to-one basis.

Due to the current pandemic and ongoing social distancing, all Cruse services are provided over the telephone, email or internet until further notice.

Both offices can be used for support sessions (when Lockdown permits) for clients who prefer to be seen outside their home.

Our National Helpline is open for information, advice and emotional support 9.30am-5.00pm Monday and Friday and 9.30am-8.00pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Weekends 10am-2pm.

If you require support outside of these times, you may wish to call the Samaritans on 116 123.

You can also get support from the Get Help section of our website www.cruse.org.uk/get-help. This offers an online chat service CruseChat. You will also find guidance on managing your grief, booklets, and information on the practicalities around bereavement.
