At Cruse Bereavement Care we are shocked and saddened that so many people have died or been affected by major incidents recently - in Finsbury Park, at Grenfell Tower, and in previous attacks at London Bridge and in Manchester. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with all those affected – those who are grieving, those who were injured, those who witnessed traumatic sights. The events may also have triggered memories for those bereaved in other situations.

Anyone needing support can call our Freephone Helpline number on 0808 808 1677

The helpline is open Monday-Friday 9.30-5pm (excluding bank holidays), with extended hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, when we’re open until 8pm.

Cruse is in regular contact with the agencies who respond to major incidents, to offer help to bereaved people both in the immediate aftermath and in the weeks and months afterwards.

People affected by the fire can go to the new Community Assistance Centre located at the Westway Sports Centre, Crowthorne Road, W10 6RP. The Red Cross helpline is 0800 4589472

There are a range of services available, 24 hours a day, including:

  • Housing needs

Cruse is working as part of the team with the Red Cross and other organisations and agencies to provide support. We have been helping people since a few hours after the fire extending our national helpline hours, reaching out to the local community and mobilising a team of 45 volunteers, all with significant experience of supporting people bereaved after a sudden and traumatic death. Cruse will be there for those who have been bereaved in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.

If you have not been directly affected the incident may still raise difficult emotions or remind you of previous bereavements. If you would like to talk to someone call our National Helpline on 0808 808 1677.
