Supporting the Military Family

Our Bereavement in the Military Family project further developed and raised awareness of bereavement services available for the Military Family. Over a three-year period, funded by the Department of Defence, we supported over 30,000 bereaved serving personnel, their families and the ex-services community.

Through the project we:

  • Trained more Cruse volunteers to support bereaved Military family members
  • Developed and distributed self help bereavement resources across the Military family
  • Piloted a peer support module training Military family members to support to each other.

We continue to support the Military Family through the information presented here on our website, through our national helpline, and through our network of local services. If you are interested in talking to us about our current work supporting bereaved Service Personnel or their families please get in touch with Gary Martin at gary.martin@cruse.org.uk.
