Yesterday evening saw Lois Tonkin, an expert on bereavement deliver an engaging presentation on Disenfranchised Grief to a packed room of 60+ volunteers and Cruse staff. The large audience and number of questions showed the interest this subject raises.
The loneliness that can be experienced when in such circumstances was really brought home, and what was surprising to some was the extent of how many different types of disenfranchisement there actually are.
Prior to the presentation, Lois undertook a short interview speaking about her work. This will be made available on the Cruse intranet and YouTube channel shortly.
If you want to learn more about Lois and her experiences look out for her new book written with Jody Day entitled, Motherhood Missed, available for pre-order - click on the image below.
Thanks to Cruse helpline personnel, Rachel and Tess for organising the event and also to London Welsh Rugby Club for use of the venue.
