Cruse welcomes great-grandchild for our Royal Patron

Cruse is delighted to hear of the birth of a son to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, great grandchild of our Royal Patron Her Majesty the Queen and heir to the throne. Our congratulations go to the Duke and Duchess and all the Royal Family.

Cruse’s composer in residence Olga Thomas-Bosovskaya has written a Royal Lullaby as a celebration of the birth of the first child to the Duke and Duchess. You can hear the lullaby performed by the Orchestral ensemble of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Portsmouth (Royal Band) here.

Olga said: “It has become a tradition and my personal privilege as the resident composer of Cruse to compose musical ‘greeting cards’ to commemorate the important events in the life of our Patron HM The Queen and her family. Therefore on this happy occasion I am delighted to present our gift to the Royal Baby: the Royal Lullaby.”

In 2009 Olga was privileged to present a CD of her compositions to Her Majesty The Queen at a special reception for Cruse's Golden Jubilee held at St James's Palace.

The Queen has always taken a personal interest in Cruse’s vision that everyone will have somewhere to turn when someone dies. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also recognised the vital importance of our work when they personally picked Cruse as one of the 26 charities to benefit from their Royal Wedding Charitable gift fund.
