Cruse works with ExtraCare to implement innovative bereavement project

Cruse is involved in a number of innovative projects, and Midlands-based Eve Wilson is a Cruse Bereavement Supporter Project Manager working with retirement housing provider  the ExtraCare Charitable Trust.

Eve started working in partnershipwith ExtraCare in January 2017 on a five year project funded by the Big Lottery Fund.  This particular project will be rolled out all of ExtraCare’s retirement villages and housing schemes which support 4,400 older people including those living with dementia. The project will improve bereavement support for ExtraCare’s residents who are aged  55 years and over.

ExtraCare is a registered charity that creates sustainable communities, providing homes older people want, lifestyles they can enjoy and care if it’s needed. Its retirement villages typically have a range of social facilities including a gym, bar and bistro, library, craft and woodwork room, IT suite and well-being suite, allowing residents to live independently and to enjoy later life.  Locations can be found here: www.extracare.org.uk/villages-and-schemes/
