A new project supporting people in the first six months of their bereavement has been launched by Cruse. The Early Intervention Project will create a new and innovative service for bereaved people living in England, who have suffered a sudden bereavement of someone very close to them.
PGD affects people who, perhaps years after a bereavement, have been unable to find a way to accommodate their loss, whose lives and daily functioning are still severely impaired by unresolved emotions. They feel 'stuck' with their grief, unable to move on.The pilot project, funded by the Department of Health, was launched in January 2013.
