Richmond upon Thames Area: Volunteering

Cruse Richmond is made up of approximately 50 volunteers. Volunteers are vital to the ongoing services and support that Cruse provides and are very much welcomed and appreciated. We are interested to hear from anybody wanting to support our work and are happy to create bespoke roles to suit an individual’s skills experience and availability.

We have two types of volunteering activity:

1. Bereavement Volunteers

Anyone can apply to be a Bereavement Volunteer for Cruse.

You do not need any previous experience but you do need to care about bereaved people and have time to offer. Every year we run at least one  Bereavement Support Foundation course

Once accredited you will be given all the preparation and support you need.

We welcome people of all ages, races, cultures and backgrounds. Please visit our Bereavement Support Foundation Course page for more information about the role and how to apply.

If you need help, please email

2. Non-client facing volunteers

Non-client facing roles include supervisors for the bereavement volunteers and all management and adminstration roles. We urgently need more volunteers to support us in these areas:

  • Outreach project worker
  • Supervisors
  • Trainers
  • Publicity officer

If you are interested in these, please use this application form and email to
