Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

We’re the UK’s leading bereavement charity, which means we have an important role to play in tackling inequalities

Our vision is that we live in a world where everyone grieving is supported, respected and understood.

To meet this vision we aim to put Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at the heart of everything we do.

Why is EDI important in grief and at Cruse?

Everyone experiences bereavement at some point in their lives. Personal, social, cultural, and economic factors have an impact on how people deal with death.

Everyone’s experience of grief and bereavement is individual. But inequalities in society mean many people experience unequal treatment. They might not be able to access specific, culturally appropriate bereavement support; this can be discriminatory.

Where we are currently

We’ve made a good start on our EDI work but we have more work to do. We are committed to embracing individuality and driving change to support that.
