Volunteer to Support Children & Young People

Cruse is committed to providing safe and effective bereavement support to children and young people who have been affected by the death of someone close to them.

Most of the support we provide is either via the telephone or zoom, this enables our team of volunteers to provide support to more bereaved people and is helping to reduce our waiting lists.

Our training spaces are in high demand, and we do ask that you are able to meet our expectations and are committed to supporting our clients as soon as you are able to.

Training opportunities vary throughout the year, but we are especially keen to hear from applicants who can support in the following areas where we currently have opportunities available:

We provide full training and ongoing training opportunities along with an exceptional Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.

We are committed to protecting the wellbeing of our volunteers. If you have recently experienced a bereavement, we kindly ask you to wait two years before volunteering with us. Whilst we appreciate that a bereavement will affect us all individually, we have a duty of care to both our volunteers and our service users, therefore, we are unable to progress any application that falls into this category at this time.

For insurance purposes we can only accept applications from those living in the UK, your training must be completed whilst you are in the UK, and you can only provide support whilst you are in the UK. For example, if you are holidaying or residing abroad, you cannot attend training or provide support to Cruse clients.

**We are not able to accept applications for a Student Placement to work with Children & Young People**
