Our trustees are volunteers with a broad range of experience who give up their time to help us run Cruse.

Sir Tony Hawkhead

Chair

Tony has worked as a CEO for national charities for more than 25 years, including with Action for Children from 2014-18 and Groundwork UK.

Mo Bradley

Vice Chair, Network and Cruse Council

Mo Bradley has worked in the care, support and housing sectors for all of her career.

Mary O'Hagan

Trustee and Vice Chair

Mary is currently Fundraising Director at Mencap, a charity supporting people with a learning disability across the UK. She has been working in fundraising and sales roles for more than 14 years and has proven experience of leading teams to transform income in a number of charities.

Paul Butler

Trustee

Paul has been a chief executive and director within the community and voluntary sector, central government and regeneration and education sectors for over 25 years.

Gerard Jacques

Trustee, Whistleblowing Lead

Gerard has held a number of Senior HR roles in a number of sectors including Head of HR at Gatwick Airport, Head of HR Operations at Premier Foods. Additionally, he is a volunteer for Crisis.

Lei Wei

Trustee

Lei is currently working as Director of Finance at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Before joining NHS, Lei spent over six years with PricewaterhouseCoopers London, working on audit and assurance reviews across a wide range of commercial and public sector clients.

Angela Gannon

Trustee

Angela has spent her career working in Social Services for Adults and has many years of professional experience at executive level within the Health and Social Care sector.

Mary Walsh

Trustee

Mary is a senior communications specialist with extensive experience of leading communications in a range of high profile organisations including Eurostar and Lloyds Banking Group.

Liz Crussell

Trustee

Liz has worked in both the private and public sector in a variety of roles. A Cruse volunteer since 2011, she brings that experience and regular contact with clients to the role of trustee.

Vijay Patel

Trustee

Vijay has worked across the children’s and adult care services throughout his career in a range of operational and strategic roles.

Mabinty Esho

Trustee

Mabinty is the Head of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) at Comic Relief. Prior to this role she was the EDI lead for the Evelina London's Children hospital at Guys' and St. Thomas' Trust. Mabinty has breadth of experience working in the EDI space across both private and public sector organisations.

Juliet Armstrong

Trustee

Juliet has over 30 years’ experience of large-scale transformational change and digital transformation. She has worked with Boards and senior leadership teams in over 20 FTSE 100/250, public and private-equity backed organisations across many sectors. As a partner she helped to grow a successful international management consultancy and is currently a NED at South West London and St. Georges mental health NHS trust. She has also been a Trustee at The House of St. Barnabas in Soho and The Makaton Charity.
