The Cruse Walk

London – Sunday 20 September 2026 | Birmingham – Sunday 27 September 2026 | Virtual Walk Available

This September, be part of the very first Cruse Walk and help raise vital funds for Cruse Bereavement Support.

Whether you’re walking in memory of someone special, honouring a loved one, supporting someone who is grieving, or simply standing in solidarity with those affected by loss, every step you take will help Cruse continue providing life-changing bereavement support.

Join us at one of our two 5 kilometre walks:

Dulwich College, London – Sunday 20 September 2026
Sutton Park, Birmingham – Sunday 27 September 2026

The Cruse Walk is an opportunity to come together, remember, and reflect while helping ensure that no one has to face grief alone.

Registration is completely free, and we encourage everyone who takes part to fundraise so that Cruse can continue supporting bereaved people across the UK when they need it most.

Can’t make it to London or Birmingham? You can still be part of the Cruse Walk. If the events are too far away, you’re welcome to organise your own walk with family, friends or colleagues. We’ll provide fundraising materials, resources and support to help you take part wherever you are.

Sign up today and walk with us in support of everyone affected by grief.

Virtual Walk

Can't make it to London or Birmingham? You can still be part of The Cruse Walk by taking part virtually. Walk wherever and whenever suits you, while remembering a loved one, supporting someone who is grieving, or standing in solidarity with everyone affected by loss. Every step helps raise vital funds so that no one has to face grief alone.

Participants will walk approximately 5 kilometres, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the route along the way.

There are many ways you can help raise money for us.

When you register, you’ll have the option to automatically set up a fundraising page through our fundraising platform, Enthuse. We’ll also provide fundraising support, including regular emails with tips and ideas, as well as a range of fundraising materials to help you get started.

If you’d prefer to speak with someone directly, please contact our Fundraising Team at [email protected].

Your Cruse Walk T-shirt and walker number will be available to collect on the day of the event when you register. To help keep costs down and ensure more funds go towards supporting our work, we do not send these items out in advance.

Yes, qualified third-party first aid providers will be in attendance throughout the event. If you require first aid assistance, or believe another participant does, please inform your nearest marshal, who will be able to arrange support.

We’re still looking for volunteers to help make this event a success. Volunteers play a vital role in cheering on walkers, providing encouragement, and helping to keep everyone safe along the route.

There are a variety of marshalling opportunities available at locations throughout the walk. If you’d like to get involved, please email [email protected] and a member of the team will be in touch.

Children are welcome to take part. Under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The route is designed to be as accessible as possible. Please contact us if you have specific accessibility requirements and we’ll be happy to discuss how we can support you.

Registration is free, and while there is no minimum fundraising requirement, every pound raised helps Cruse continue providing bereavement support.

We recommend comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for walking, a refillable water bottle and weather-appropriate clothing.

The walk will go ahead in most weather conditions. If severe weather affects the event, we will contact registered participants with any updates.

Here's what your fundraising could achieve:

£19 could fund a helpline call for someone struggling after the sudden loss of a loved one.

£68 Could provide a one-to-one support session with a trained Cruse volunteer.

£96 Could help give a volunteer additional training to support someone bereaved by suicide.

£615 Could help train a volunteer to support bereaved children and young people.
