The National Freephone Helpline is also available

The national helpline is open Monday-Friday 9.30-5pm (excluding bank holidays), with extended hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, when we’re open until 8pm.

If you work for a support agency or similar and are requesting support for one of your clients please ask them to contact the Helpline personally as we do ask that clients self-refer.

Bereavement Support Group

From time to time we run facilitated support groups as well as one to one support, new clients will be informed if a new group is planned.

We occasionaly also have 'Tea and Talk' meetings; informal, one-off gatherings where clients on the waiting list can meet others in simliar circumstances, meet volunteers and hear a little bit about Cruse and it's way of working.

Training as a volunteer

The South Humber Cruse area is appealing for volunteers to support people in the community who are struggling to cope after the death of a loved one. Last year our local charity supported adults, children and young people who have been bereaved by giving them one-to-one and group support. ‘Awards for All’ have recently provided £9983 in funding to enable us to train new Bereavement Volunteers and Supervisors.

Our next Bereavement Volunteer training course will be held in Grimsby and Scunthorpe, beginning on the 5th of October 2019. (Dates for the supervisors’ course have yet to finalised but will probably take place in the Autumn in Leeds.

To find out more about becoming a volunteer for Cruse please phone 07867 312658 or email
